Mission Statement
Mission Statement of American Indian Movement of San
Diego, Inc. The American Indian Movement San Diego
is a proactive advocacy and educational organization
concerned with promoting the unity and security of
Indian communities, families and drug free youth
programs. The organization is dedicated to
representing the many interests and concerns of all
Native American Indian people, particularly renewal
of spirituality to empower Indian people with
dignity regarding political, social and legal
issues, including cultural traditions and inherent
sovereign rights.

will be discussing various issues in Indian Country
including Jack Abramoff, Republican party, get out
the Indian vote and the national holiday issue.

Wounded Knee Memorial Ride, 2006
Garry Rowland with the
Wounded
Knee Memorial Ride,
2006 will be discussing the upcoming ride, memorial,
rodeo and pow wow taking place at Wounded Knee, Pine
Ridge Reservation South Dakota on August 7th - 13th

Sycuan Inter Tribal Vocational
Rehabilitation
Jodene Platero
Director from the
Sycuan Inter Tribal Vocational
Rehabilitation
will be discussing Native American Indians with
Physical or Mental Disabilities. SITVR's mission is
to; Obtain or Maintain Employment by offering
Vocational Rehabilitation through Supports such as
Counseling, Medical and Psychological Services, Job
Training and Referrals, and other Individualized
Services.
March 29th ~
LPDC & Leonard Peltier's Legal Defense Team
Leonard Peltier Defense Committee and
Leonard's Legal Defense Team will be providing legal
updates from the recent hearing on February 13th and the
status of Leonard's case. This motion addressed the
Lakota Nation sovereignty issue. The basis for this
motion was the United States District Court lacked
subject matter jurisdiction under the statutes upon
which Mr. Peltier was convicted and sentenced.
